Religion

North Toronto Christian School is a co-educational Christian elementary and high school, not affiliated with any specific church or denomination. The Bible is used as an integral part of the school curriculum and all matters of counselling, discipline, and school life are governed by a commitment to Biblical principles and values.

School Year/Hours

The school year extends from September through June. All classes begin at 8:45am, but the high school day ends at 3:05pm while the elementary school day ends at 3:15pm.

Program

Traditional Christian values are promoted and integrated into the arts, sciences, physical education, and all aspects of the school program. Dedicated teachers seek to provide guidance and instill a sense of self-worth into students, which is of inestimable value over a lifetime. NTCS promotes the love of God and teaches respect for others, obedience to parents, and non-violent solutions to problems. Students Together

Facilities

The school occupies a former commercial office building and sports complex with a total of 80,000 square feet of space on two floors. Classrooms are bright, modern, and climate-controlled. Specialty classrooms include three science laboratories, three computer laboratories, and separate areas for the art, music, and drama classes. The athletic and recreational facilities include a 25-metre indoor swimming pool, three squash courts, a soccer field, a basketball/hockey court, a playground, an indoor track, and a weight training and aerobics section.

Health

Parents should expect that all students will participate fully in the entire school program. If health problems restrict such participation in any way, exceptions will be made with a doctor's note. All students must be immunized according to the Ontario Ministry of Health regulations. An optional student accident insurance program is also available.

Vacations

School holidays generally coincide with the public schools of the area. There is a two-week holiday period at Christmas and one week for March Break. Long weekend breaks occur in November and February and the school is closed for the normal statutory holidays.
